Best Ways To Increase Battery Life Of Your Mobile Devices
June 10, 2008 by FD

It is true that after a time every battery begins to lose charge faster and not hold as much charge as before. This might not be that big of a problem if the battery can be changed by the consumer (without sending it in for repairs) but if it is an internal battery it can be very inconvenient and sometimes expensive. In any case here are some tips to help you extend the life of your battery.
Never keep you device plugged in for a long period of time after it has finished charging. This is one thing that can destroy the life of your battery drastically. After your device has finished charging make sure you unplug it. Keeping it plugged in will continue to keep the battery in excessive use as it is not only being used but charging at the same time. This will drastically reduce the life of your battery.
Collaborate your battery. This is especially good for laptop/notebook computer batteries. Basically all this means that you should fully charge the battery and allow it to drain completely or almost. Once charge is kept in the battery cells too long they become weak. Allowing the cells to empty their charge will increase their life.
Heat: This is a major factor in hot climates. As much as possible try and keep the battery or device cool. Too much heat to the battery will cause it to lose life and if the battery is defective it can even cause it to catch on fire.
Turn off unnecessary device features. This is especially true for laptops and smart phones. If features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc are not being used its best to disable or turn these features as the leach valuable battery life. And every time a battery is recharged it holds a little less than before.
Backlight. Almost every mobile device uses backlights or led lights to brighten the LCD screen. Some devices allow this to be turned off or down. If your device allows you to do this, turn it down as it will greatly increase your battery life and lessen the amount of times you have to charge it.
Laptop Computers: Keep your notebook/laptop unplugged as much as possible. If your computer is constantly left plugged in the battery will become lazy and hold less charge. For that reason only plug in your notebook when the battery needs to be juiced up.
Cordless phones: This is probably going to be one of the hardest to remember as we generally put the phone back on the jack when we’re not using it. This might be good to help with not misplacing the device, but this will also cause the battery to become lazy. Just like in the case with laptop computers only put the phone on the jack if it needs to be charged. If not keep it beside the jack.
These are the best tips to keep your battery optimum. This doesn’t mean you will never need to replace your battery. Eventually you will have to, but if you follow these simple tips it will greatly increase battery performance.
