ICON - Computer Term Of The Day

So what are all these cool looking little pictures all over your computer?
These pictures are called ICON’s
An icon is a picture used to represent something while making it more visually appealing for computer users.
Look at the top right corner of this page - see the little orange picture?
That is an ICON that represents and is pretty much standard for RSS Feeds
Some other examples of ICON’s would be found for: data files, program files, folders, email messages, and drives. Each type of program or object has it’s own unique icon. That means that different types of files each have an icon representing its file type. MS Excel files will have the MS Excel icon; Internet Explorer will have it’s own icon, Etc.

Have a look around your computer and see if you can spot other types of icons.
